When it comes to working from home I need a few basic things - my trusty Macbook, music and lots of cups of coffee. And while I'm usually to be found curled up writing from the comfort of my bed, sometimes I nip downstairs to work at our dining table or on the sofa for a little change of scenery. (I so miss my study in our old flat. Oh to have a dedicated work space again!) During those times when I'm not in our bedroom, and therefore not near my cute bedside radio, I often forget to play music. I know, I know, I can play it on my laptop. But for some reason I just don't. I prefer to play my music elsewhere, enabling me to play distracting youtube videos on my laptop as and when I need a break from work. It's my weird logic. Please go with it...
Now, enter my most recent object of desire - the Helsinki loudspeaker by Vifa. Gosh darn, it's pretty.
Danish in design, the Helsinki loudspeaker is a beautiful piece that I'd happily use and display in any room of my house. Just look at the one in the room above, isn't it lovely? Design credentials aside, it's also a solid piece of impressive tech that I'm sure even my husband (sound/PA man extraordinaire) would be impressed by. It's powered by a rechargeable lithium battery making things even easier when taking it out and about.
The portable speaker connects with either a cable (aux 3.5mm mini-jack) or via bluetooth to any compatible device, so it makes sharing your iPhone playlists with the whole room a cinch. Plus its perfectly proportioned size means it can be taken on any adventure - even outdoor adventures - thanks to its water repellent Kvadrat fabric exterior.
The Helsinki loudspeaker is priced at £299 and is available at the Do South Shop.
