A long-time admirer of Laura Ashley, I always make sure I can get along to the press show which happen with each approaching season. The combination of classic British prints and patterns and covetable pieces of homewares is always a winner. The AW15 homewares collection was a treat to preview and I came away with a fair few items added to my wishlist (not least the ace WISH light). I'm always blown away by the set up and styling at these shows, too. Fun and inspiring, each section draws you in and allows you to have a good nosy at the up and coming pieces.
I thought it would be fun to share my top five pieces from the show, and since this post is a tad delayed each item has already hit the stores - hurrah! Picking just five favourites was a little tricky but I got there after whittling down my many must-haves. Now if anyone fancies buying these for me, I'd be most obliged.
Rather than focusing on one specific trend I thought I'd pick a mix of my absolute favourite pieces. Texture was an important factor here - with marble, wood and jute happily sitting alongside enamel and canvas. I can already picture the marble clock on the wall of our sitting room and the jute bag beside our sofa piled full of cosy blankets. The pendant light is both clever and pretty with an adjustable cord length - perfect for quick lighting changes, perhaps above a dining table. At the press show the canvas 'flower show' wall art caught my eye immediately. I really like the vintage style and charming design and I'm sure it would look lovely cheering up our entryway wall at home.
What do you think of my picks? Do you have any favourites of your own? I'd love to hear - just leave me a comment below!
