Styling the Seasons at{mine}

This month's Styling the Seasons is extra special, and as soon as I heard about the collaboration I knew I had to join in. Since Katy and Charlotte started this fun project last year, it's been a monthly highlight for me. I love how it's encouraged me to think more intentionally about those corners of my home which sit unloved, often with no change for weeks. I've also been inspired no end by seeing all of the shared images as part of the project - the #stylingtheseasons hashtag is just beautiful. This month they've joined forces with the lovely online community, at{mine}. I've been a beta member on it for a little while and I always come away after visiting the site with fresh ideas and a long wishlist!

Celebrating the changing seasons has made for a happier home, and this month has been no exception. Here's my take on #StylingSpringAtMine

I love love spring, and I hope this is reflected in my styled surface. Since I'm so pale and turn into a hot mess come summer, the spring months when the sky is blue, blossom bursts off every tree branch and it's warm enough to go without a coat are the best. Days are lighter and longer, but without any stifling heat or sunburn. In a room, scent is as important as any other aspect and so I was thrilled when I finally got my hands on one of these scented candles by LW. Gently fragranced with rose and blackcurrant, you get a hit of the sweet smell before it's even lit. It brings such a calm atmosphere to our bedroom, where this little vignette was styled.

Since the trees a laden with so much blossom, it felt important to celebrate this. It was a happy moment when (after bemoaning the lack of vibrancy or colour in our garden) we returned from our easter break to see that a blossom tree had literally burst into life in our absence. I didn't even know it was there! Needless to say, its branches now sit on almost every surface in our home... In true 'wabi-sabi' effect I tapped the branch and a sweet scattering of petals fells and landed in a much nicer way than I ever could have arranged. There really is such beauty in the imperfect. It was the blossom too, which inspired the colours in this little scene - soft pinks, with hints of greys here and there. I'm not a hugely girlie girl, but soft blossom pinks I can totally get on board with.

The last piece I knew I wanted to include, was my new, sweet print by Teri at The Lovely Drawer. My photo might not quite show it up, but the paper stock it's printed on is the softest pink, and so it was perfect for my blossom inspired surface. I'm slightly obsessed with all things space related, and so this moon phases illustration is the perfect reflection of this. Did you know each night this month if you look into space at certain times you can see the International Space Station pass overhead? There's something about seeing this tiny moving light, but knowing that it is currently home to six astronauts totally blows my mind and I get quite emotional seeing it. (You can check from what direction and at what time the ISS will be passing over UK skies right here, they also have a twitter account which I love!)
