Hello, friends. In another act of 'better late than never' I'm so happy to be sharing my contribution to 'Styling the Seasons' for March. There are still some precious days ahead, before we welcome April!
It's actually been quite lovely leaving my styling and shooting until later in the month, as it has helped me get a better sense of what the month means, how I'm feeling and how this can then be reflected in my chosen styled surface. As you can see, this month the scene is one of calm. Our bedroom isn't painted white (yet) so it sort of helped the soft colours to not become too stark. I was itching to hang stuff on the wall to fill out the scene, but sometimes a whisper is enough.
As it turns out, March has definitely been a month of rest. Illness came and knocked me for six and my laptop is having a funny turn which means those moments of unplugged calm are now part of my daily routine. So, while totally unplanned this forced month of stepping back, resting and unplugging has been good, and has left me feeling excited for what's to come.
I enjoyed styling my bedside chest of drawers, gathering a scene of unplugged calm: piles of Kinfolk, old inspiring books, a sweet rose and some beautifully soothing tea leaves. All these things make for a perfectly relaxing setting. (Just add a mug and hot water!)
April is mere days away now, and I for one am rejoicing in the sunshine, bright days and blooming trees. Spring brings with it such joy, and I can't wait to reflect this around our home.
