Hi friends. Hope you're all having a splendid week! I've been a little under the weather, nothing to serious, but enough so that all I fancy doing is snuggling down under my duvet watching movies! Thankfully, blogging and writing allows for such activities, as working from bed is still possible. Hurrah for that. I really wanted to share with you a lovely afternoon I spent looking around the Laura Ashley HQ, getting excited about their spring/summer 2015 collections. I know, Christmas still hasn't happened, but in press land thoughts are way beyond Christmas and well into 2015. I for one love this, as I so love spring and summer, and literally cannot wait for the days to be long and light once again. As usual, Laura Ashley has a lot of tempting treats in store. The homewares next season are split into the following collections: Palm House, Casual Country, Simplicity and Natural Glamour. While it was all beautiful, my eye was totally drawn to the Casual Country range - the soft blues and sweet swallow print wallpaper won my heart...
Here's a closer look at that soft blue swallow print wallpaper. I can totally imagine this adorning the walls of our bedroom!
And here is a closer look at some of the fabrics, including the pussy willow and corby check fabrics, both in seaspray.
This cushion also drew my attention as it looked so snuggly and it's always so great to see products which have been made in the UK.
While pinks are less my thing, the natural glamour collection certainly stood out. Just look at that sumptuous Wexford chair upholstered in caitlyn pale amethyst. It looks super comfy!
Here's a little sneak peek at the palm house collection. The print has hints of the tropics and definitely makes me long for spring and summer days.
Back again for SS15 is the Laura Ashley Easter collection. Perfect for little people, the soft plushies and Easter hunt kit were oh so sweet!
And now onto possibly the most exciting part of the preview - the decorative furniture paint. As you may know, Laura Ashley already produce their own paints, in a range of beautiful shades. Extending from this will soon be a range of furniture paint, which will be in similarly stunning hues, and will make upcycling furniture a doddle. No priming, no fuss - just the way I like my furniture projects! They had a few tins on display, with some chairs which had been painted, and they looked gorgeous. If there's one thing I'm most excited to try out come SS15, it's this paint.
In addition to this, there will also be a fun decorative paint roller. Do you remember seeing these used on last season's Great Interior Design Challenge? Well, Laura Ashley have designed their own versions, in Aviary Garden, Salcombe and Bella Butterfly and I'm pretty certain that these will be a big hit. I can't wait to try them out.
So there you have it, there is definitely a bright and cheering SS15 ahead for us all. Thanks so much for inviting me to see all the pretty, team Laura Ashley!
