Cath Kidston - SS15 Preview

Hello friends, and a very Merry Christmas! I hope you've had a good one, and have enjoyed a time of peace and joy. We've had a really special time with my parents and in-laws - and with so much to look forward to with 2015 on the horizon!

I've been meaning to share these photos from the Cath Kidston spring / summer 2015 preview for a little while now, but with Christmas and an impending blog change {more on that soon!} it's been a tad delayed. But given all this, now is actually a great time to take a look at all the Cath Kidston treats that will soon be in store, and it's perhaps extra handy if you've got some Christmas pennies waiting to be put to good use! I saw plenty of things at the preview that have whizzed to the top of the 'treat myself' list - and here's a little lowdown for you of the upcoming prints and collections.

The preview was called 'A Breath of Fresh Air' and it was just that. The whole room had a gentle, country feel to it - complete with neon pops, fun prints and gorgeous florals. We were also treated to a delicious range of drinks and treats. Even the water was given out in sweet mini milk bottles. Such a fun touch. The focus of the entire SS15 collection is centred around Cath's Cotswold home - right in the heart of the countryside. And fittingly, the collection is bursting with sweet nods to best of British rural life - from skies full of fluffy white clouds, to fields full of animals and breathtaking views across the hills and valleys.

There were several new fabrics launched for SS15 and all of them had a sweet story to tell:

  • Clouds
  • Beacon View
  • Farmyard
  • Tulips and Ric Rac
  • River Fish

Clouds particularly caught my eye, as it's a departure from the classic florals, into a bright, almost watercolour print - with added neon pops. {Always a winner in my book!} The clouds print is adorning so many pretty pieces for SS15, but the scarf {which I was kindly given in my goody bag} was one of my faves, along with this gorgeous stationery range. Just look at that leather document wallet, below. Love love.

Along with all the new Cath Kidston prints, there is also an exciting partnership to enjoy - in the shape of the Cath Kidston / Gola trainers. Available in a range of fabrics, these trainers are super cute and look very comfy, too! In line with these new sportier, outdoors elements, there will also  also be a range of Cath Kidston bicycles and accessories to enjoy - so you can pretty up your pedal power.

But the fun and new pieces, didn't stop there... here's a lovely new ceramics range, featuring Cath's new dog, Billie. I love how these pieces are so full of charm and character, as is so often the case with Cath Kidston goodies, but that these are an all white, plain and relatively simple range. Perfect for mixing and matching with other brighter pieces on your dinner table.

The Farmyard range is such fun, and those t-shirts are so soft and look so comfy to wear, I need to get one in every colour! Check out the jumper on the right too, happily called the 'fuzzy felt jumper'. It brings back such happy memories for me of that quintessentially British toy!

Another range which I think will be so popular when it hits the stores, is the Ric Rac pattern. Pictured below, the dress is so sweet and playful, and the matching skirt is also gorgeous! The ric rac pattern follows through on a range of ceramics too, along with some fun and practical outdoor dining ware, in the shape of melamine plates and acrylic glasses. Perfect for picnics.

So, there you have it! A spring and summer collection which is bursting with charm and cheerful optimism. Bring on 2015!
