I'm going on an adventure!

Hi friends, I hope you all had a lovely weekend. B and I {along with my parents} were delighted to take a trip out to Winchester, to attend the wedding of a very special friend. What a beautiful wedding it was! Since I was in Winchester it would have been rude to not pay a visit to The Hambledon. I'll no doubt blog more about this incredible store in the future, but if you've not been you really must go. And if you're not a Winchester local then don't panic, they have a brilliant online store. A little while ago, I wrote about why this blog is called The Planned Adventure and about some of the biggest adventures I've had. Well, as it turns out, there is another scary/exciting/fun/ adventure in the offing...

I'm going to Alt Summit in Salt Lake City. And it's only two weeks away! *Gulp*

I've long followed Alt on Twitter, Insta and every other social channel going, and it's always been on my 'I wish I could go one day' list. Well, fast-forward to this post about motherhood {which wasn't easy to write, but which I'm so glad to have shared with you}, and I was offered a ticket for free. And, while the rest of the trip really wasn't cheap, my awesome husband encouraged me to go for it anyway. I'm beyond excited!

As the only blogger heading to the event from this fair isle, I'm determined to make the most of this incredible opportunity. I want to leave my nerves and apprehension at the door, and embrace every moment from meeting other bloggers and brands to sightseeing in a beautiful city.

I thought it would be a good idea to note down some simple goals for Alt, and by sharing them with you now you can hold me to them!

1) Make friends : As much as I find myself rather nervous when flung into a group of strangers, I love meeting new people. Every single time I've pushed myself out of my comfort zone I've met amazing, talented, inspiring and friendly folk who have gone on to become good friends.  I'm pretty sure Alt will be no exception.

2) Be inspired : I want to squeeze every last drop out of Alt by learning from and being inspired by others. I'm pretty sure it'll all be rather overwhelming, so another goal is to take lots of notes that I can decipher at a later date!

3) Have fun : With heaps to learn, fun themed parties, friendly folk and a new city - what's not to love? Fun will definitely be had.

I'll be sure to keep you up to date with how I get on! When I'm over there I'll be tweeting and gramming like mad, so follow me there if you'd like to see more. {By the way, I've finally caught up and I'm also now on Facebook, so do pop over and 'like' me if you fancy!}
